The ByGrace story

From compassion to long-term formation.

Founded by Stephen and Rosemary Mbogo in 2004, ByGrace Trust began with a simple act of compassion: welcoming orphaned, at-risk, and children in need from the streets of Nairobi, Kenya, into a home environment. The response grew from immediate care into a wider Christ-centred family setting where children could be known, loved, educated, mentored, and prepared for life.

At ByGrace, the emphasis has never been shelter alone. Children need belonging, patient caregivers, education, emotional support, spiritual formation, and adults who walk with them over time. This family-care model continues to shape the way ByGrace thinks about schooling, discipleship, tertiary support, skills, and transition into adulthood.

Over the years, the work has extended beyond the children’s home. In partnership with local churches and schools, ByGrace Trust has supported education access for over 2,000 children across Kenya, reflecting a vision of care that reaches beyond one institution and strengthens a wider educational ecosystem.

The endowment exists so that this work is not dependent only on urgent campaigns. It seeks to build long-term support for education, mentorship, discipleship, skills development, and the movement from rescue toward sustainable adulthood.

Book and resource purchases through this website support the same vision. Readers receive access to thoughtful material, while the proceeds help strengthen a long-term pathway for ByGrace young people and the communities connected to them.

Why books matter

Books create shared language. They help parents, leaders, donors, and institutions see the same problems and begin building better responses.

Accountability

Giving and purchases are separated so ebook access, payment records, and endowment gifts can be tracked clearly.

Partnership

The endowment grows through friends, churches, schools, alumni, donors, and partners who believe long-term formation matters.
